Alteo is looking for an ERP Master Data Specialist for a permanent job based in Montreal.

As ERP Master Data Specialist, you will maintain and manage master data within ERP Systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and governance across systems. This role will involve working cross-functionally with IT, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to improve data integrity, optimize workflows, and contribute to automation and system enhancements. Additionally, the specialist will be key in supporting the company's transition toward a unified ERP system, ensuring that master data management aligns with the organization's long-term digital transformation goals.

Responsibilities:

• Master Data Entry & Management
  • Input new data into the ERP system (Microsoft NAV 2018 and DAX 2012) and manage key master data sets (Vendors, Customers, Pricing, Item Masters, BOMs, Product Configurations).
  • Guarantee that the data is reliable, current, and consistent across all systems.
• Root Cause Analysis & Resolution
  • Investigate data discrepancies to uncover underlying causes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and prevent future issues, ensuring data accuracy.
• Process Improvement & Bottleneck Removal
  • Identify and eliminate inefficiencies in current data management workflows.
  • Partner with IT and other departments to optimize processes and enhance system performance.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to speed up and improve the accuracy of data management tasks.
• Data Governance & Quality Control
  • Set up and maintain data governance practices in alignment with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Establish and enforce guidelines for data entry, change management, and quality assurance to uphold the integrity of the data.
• System Optimization & Integration
  • Work with IT teams to enhance Microsoft NAV 2018 and DAX 2012, ensuring better data synchronization and integration.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to reduce manual efforts and boost system efficiency. Cross-Department Collaboration & Training
  • Work closely with teams from Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and Operations to understand their data requirements
  • Provide training and support on data management best practices and ensure smooth dataflow across departments.
• Change Management & New Product Integration
  • Oversee the management of data changes related to new products, pricing adjustments, and updates to vendor/customer data.
  • Ensure changes are accurately implemented in the ERP system with minimal operational disruptions.
• Reporting & Analytics
  • Generate reports to assess master data accuracy, pinpoint discrepancies, and provide actionable insights.
  • Contribute to improving data management practices through ongoing reporting and analysis.
• Continuous Improvement
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data management processes.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing workflows for faster, more efficient data entry and management.

• 3-5 years of experience in Master Data Management, ideally within Microsoft NAV 2018 or Dynamics AX 2012 (strong asset)
• Proven ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies through root cause analysis.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, compliance, and process optimization.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, working with IT, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations.
• Willingness to support the company's transition toward a unified ERP system, ensuring data integrity and scalability.
• Experience in data automation and system integration for improved efficiency
• Six Sigma or Lean certification for process optimization.
• Exposure to other ERP platforms, providing a broader perspective on data management best practices.
• Understanding of the retail business (strong asset)
• Advanced Excel and Power BI skills for data visualization and reporting (asset).
